FAQ's-Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  Do you accept insurance?

A. No, unfortunately, I do not accept third party insurance payors as a form of payment at this time.  I do accept HSA/FSA payment through the credit card. I have also set up payment plans on all of the initial packages to help spread the cost out over 3 months.

Q. In what states are you allowed to work with patients?

A.  I am bound by licensure laws in individual states, and the states in which I am able to work with clients are listed above.  If you live in one of those states, we can legally work together.  If not, I can review the laws of your state to determine if I am allow to work with you since these laws change frequently over time.  I encourage you to reach out to me so I can explore our options of working together.

Q. What conditions to you treat?

A.  Nutrition is central to all chronic disease, and making nutrition and lifestyle changes can bring benefit to anyone, no matter their status to a disease state.  However, dietitians can become specially trained to treat specific conditions, such as chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and eating disorders.  While I have had extensive training in functional nutrition, I do not hold these specialty certifications. My expertise is in helping people understand their DNA nutrigenomic test results and apply that knowledge to improving their health. I also have extensive experience in helping to resolve gastro-intestinal problems.

Q. I'm worried about privacy with a genetic test. How am I protected?

A.  The 3X4 Laboratory takes privacy protection very seriously, and has an elaborate method of separating your Personal Health Information (PHI) from your test results.  Their privacy policy is posted HERE.  Once I received the results, I post them within a HIPAA-compliant portal where we host all our communications (called Practice Better) so only you have access to the results.  You can then download the results for future reference.
